Dr Strangely Strange at Sound Techniques

Dr Strangely Strange celebrated the 50th anniversary of their wonderful debut album Kip of the Serenes (1969) this year which was produced by Joe Boyd and recorded at Sound Techniques, Chelsea by engineer Vic Gamm. Their follow up Heavy Petting (1970) was partially recorded in Chelsea and partly recorded back in Ireland with the help of Sound Techniques engineer Roger Mayer.

Back in April of this year Dr Strangely Strange celebrated a new book by Adrian Whittaker with a packed out launch gig at Cafe Oto in Dalston, London. Following the gig, band members Tim BoothTim Goulding and Ivan Pawle each generously shared their hazy but happy recollections of the hallowed Chelsea ground with The Parts You Don’t Hear. This could not have been possible without the help of our regular cameraman Tim Band and stand-in wrangler and host Adrian Whittaker. Many thanks friends and we are all currently enjoying Adrian’s new critically acclaimed book titled Dr Strangely Strange: Fitting Pieces To The Jigsaw. Keep up to date with the band via their facebook page.
